The boy was shot in Ronan Park near the 3000 block of Argyle Street. Police say he was standing “with several others” when shots were fired. He was transported to Children’s Memorial Hospital.
Just two hours prior, around 8 p.m., another boy, 14, was shot in the city’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
After being approached by two men, the boy said one of them fired at him, with one shot hitting him in the right forearm. Police say he waited two hours before calling 911, though his reason for doing so was not released.
