Spanish Woman Steals Money from Son’s Bar, Loses it Gambling

Police in Spain say a woman claiming her son’s bar had been robbed actually stole the money herself.

Investigators say the 56-year-old woman stole money from the bar located in Artana, using the money to gamble. After losing the money gambling, she then fabricated a story.

According to thinkSPAIN, the woman told police she was cleaning up at the bar when two men broke in a stole a few days worth of profits. She even claimed that injuries to her face were caused by the robbers.

However, after speaking to the woman multiple times, investigators realized her story was inconsistent. After being pressed for details, the woman eventually caved and confessed to stealing and losing it all away on a gambling .

The mother was charged with simulating a crime for financial gain.

As for the injuries to her face, she also admitted that the injuries to her face were actually caused by a fall down the stairs.
