President Obama Nominates Jimmie V. Reyna to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit

U.S. President Obama announced the nomination of Jimmie V. Reyna to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC).  The CAFC has nationwide jurisdiction of appeals arising from among others federal district courts.  Mr. Reyna is a partner in the Washington,  DC office of Williams Mullen with over three decades of legal experience and 24 years as an international trade practitioner.  He is a noted and prolific author, having written books and numerous articles on international trade, trade policy and customs. 

Diana Sen, President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HBNA), noted that “the HNBA family is delighted by the nomination of Mr. Reyna, a former national president of our Association.  We are confident that Mr. Reyna will make an exceptional jurist and the HNBA urges the U.S. Senate to confirm his nomination with deliberate speed.” 

He has been Editor-in-Chief of the HNBA Journal of Law and Policy, which he founded, for many years.  He also has a record of service with the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, the ABA Presidential Commission on Diversity and the ABA House of Delegates, and
within the ABA International Law Section. 

In 2009, the Government of Mexico honored Mr. Reyna with its Ohtli Award, in recognition of his contributions to opening pathways for the Mexican-American and Latino communities in the U.S.
