Photo: Oops! Spanish Building has 47 Floors, No Elevator
A 47-story skyscraper in Spain is nearly complete, but builders still have one major task ahead of them - building an elevator.
Though anyone would assume a building as tall as the InTempo skyscraper would have an elevator, that assumption would be incorrect. Wishing to be a beacon of hope in the troubled Spanish economy, the original plans for the building were rushed through and approved quickly.
Unfortunately, construction was well underway by the time anyone realized the building’s plans did not include any elevators.
Now, with the building said to be about 95 percent complete, builders are left with one option for the Alicante building’s upward mobility issues - exterior elevator shafts.
Though it is still expected to open in December, the elevators will increase building costs significantly.
