The longest-running Spanish-language program and Univision ratings hit ‘Sabado Gigante’ is getting ready to welcome First Lady Michelle Obama this Saturday.
The three-hour variety show is hosted by Don Francisco airing from 8-to-11pm local time. The show originated in Chile in 1962 making it the longest running variety TV show in the world. The show is known for its circus like atmosphere featuring singing competitions, mini beauty pageants, and family reunions. The show films in Miami and airs on the Univision TV network.
The First Lady will appear on the show’s children segment called “Conversando con los Niños” to promote her health and fitness initiative, ‘Let’s Move!’ to fight childhood obesity. About 16 percent of all Hispanic children ages 2 to 5 are considered obese.
