A man in Florida was reportedly stabbed after a man at a market was angered enough to stab him for not sharing his beer.
Raul Rivera Diaz, 43, was walking out of Black Bay Market in Fort Myers when a man, later identified as Juan Miguel Arellano, 50, approached him and asked for one of his 16-ounce cans of Natural Ice beer. Diaz refused and tried to walk away when police say Arellano became verbally aggressive and demanded Diaz hand over a beer.
When Diaz refused again, Arellano pulled out a knife and stabbed Diaz in the lower abdomen. Arellano took a beer and ran off.
Police were alerted and Diaz was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
Coincidentally, while police were on their way to Diaz’s aid, police reportedly spotted Arellano, who was carrying a 16 oz. can of Natural Ice.
Diaz was able to positively identify Arellano. Arellano was then charged with aggravated battery.
A search of his name in the Lee County criminal case list reveals Arellano has had a number of charges filed against him among them are charges for trespassing, having open alcohol containers, resisting an officer without violence, and petty theft.
