Photo: Hog Hunter Shoots Deer from Side of Road Claims he Needs to Feed Family
A 41-year-old Florida man was arrested Friday after police say he illegally shot two deer from a public roadway.
Wilfredo Castillo claims he was shot the deer to feed his family because he had recently lost his job.
However, Castillo is in serious trouble, because it is not currently deer-hunting season, he broke the law when he trespassed on the land, and he broke it again when he fired his weapon from a public road.
Castillo told police he was on his way home from a hog-hunting trip with his son when he saw two deer across the road, got out of his car and shot them from the street.
While he was retrieving the deer, deputies stopped and arrested him.
He has been charged with the unlawful taking of doe deer, discharging a firearm from a public roadway, and felony trespassing by projectile.
His court date has been set for June 11.
