A group of illegal immigrants attempting to enter the US from Mexico illegally via water, were tracked down by the U.S. Coast Guard, who were able to arrest one man, while another drowned south of San Diego.
The man arrested was wearing expensive flippers, a wet suit, and was using a water scooter to swim to San Diego shores, before being picked up.
Once arrested and in the safety of the Coast Guard boat, the man said he was left behind when aiding another water scooter immigrant who had lost consciousness.
The Coast Guard searched for the other man, and found him too late, he had already drowned.
Two or three other scooter immigrants were able to elude the Coast Guard and are thought to have swam to the U. S.
