Mexico’s Cristian Castro reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s list of best-selling Latin Albums with “Mi amigo el Principe: La historia,” featuring tunes made famous by his compatriot Jose Jose, known as “the Prince of Song.”
Castro’s latest displaced Charlie Zaa’s “De Bohemia”, which fell to seventh.
Holding onto second place was “Entre Dios and el diablo,” by Mexican regional star Gerardo Ortiz, while singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona’s “Independiente” kept a lock on the No. 3 spot.
In fourth was Cristian Castro’s “Viva el Principe,” the first installment of his tribute to Jose Jose.
Prince Royce’s self-titled debut album continued in fifth place.
Further down the charts, in the 11th spot, is “Asi,” the new release from Shaila Durcal, daughter of legendary Spanish songstress Rocio Durcal.
Tito Nieves’ latest, “Mi ultima grabacion,” entered the Latin Albums chart at No. 25, followed at 26 by the compilation disc “Lo mejor del Tribal Mixx.
