Starting this week Chicago’s O’Hare airport will be offering weekly nonstop flights to Cuba. The charter C&T will offer one flight to Cuba every Friday and offer one weekly return flight from Cuba.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel was enthusiast about the flights and saw them as keeping in line with the city’s mission to become more globally competitive. The first flight took off the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Chicago is one of seven U.S. airports to offer direct flights to Cuba once travel restrictions were lifted by the U.S. government. Early next year O’Hare will offer a weekly nonstop flight on Monday as well.
