The Chicago Police along with DEA agents announced the arrest of 33 individuals thought to be members of the Imperial Insane Vice Lords in an early morning sweep.
The Imperial Insane Vice Lords are one of Chicago’s violent, drug trafficking street gangs. Ten defendants who allegedly run operations along with street dealers were arrested.
The forty seven-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury charges that from about 1996 to September 2013, the defendants were employed by and associated with the Imperial Insane Vice Lords in the business of drug trafficking and racketeering and used violence to further their enterprise. The street dealers targeted in the sweep work for the Vice Lords out of the west and northwest areas of the city.
