In what seems like a Johnny Cochran-type career move, former Casey Anthony lawyer has attached himself to the headline-making case of the missing woman in Aruba, Robyn Gardner.
Jose Baez, Casey Anthony’s lawyer, is now a consultant for Gary Giordano, the suspect in the disappearance of Maryland woman, Robyn Gardner, 35, who went missing in August while on vacation with Giordano, whom she had met online.
While Baez is not the lead attorney, he will be involved with Giordano’s defense, likely to consult on forensic evidence. He is said to be in Aruba interviewing witnesses.
Baez graduated from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1997, but is not recorded as having passed the Florida bar until 2005.
Gardner was last seen on August 2 at the Rum Reef Bar & Grill in the Baby Beach Area of Aruba. Giordana has told officials that Gardner was swept out to sea while they were snorkeling. However, when he was first picked up by police while attempting to leave the vacation destination, he said Gardner was taking a different flight.
