Ellen DeGeneres asked Bruno Mars to open Tuesday’s show, saying the world needs a lot of love right now.
The host spoke about the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, and introduced Mars by saying, “I think we can all agree right now we need a lot of love out there.”
After the moving performance, Ellen seemed to be fighting back tears.
Later she gave Mars a mistletoe hat, and you bet he used it for a kiss.
