An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 was felt in the Peruvian cities of Lima and Arequipa, and across the coastal regions near the city of Ica.
The quake’s epicenter was located 31 miles south of the coastal city Ica, some 178 miles away from Lima. No Tsunami alerts have been issued.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports it was centered just off the coast of Ica at a depth of 9.2 miles.
There are no immediate reports of damages.
