The bodies of a Croatian man and a Swedish man were found inside a house in Jenipabu, a city in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Norte state, police said Sunday.
The bodies of Ante Stanic, a 57-year-old Croatian citizen, and Faik Nekic, a 78-year-old Swedish national, were discovered on Saturday, the police criminal inestigation service said.
The victims were wearing only their underwear and had bags over their heads, investigators said, adding that the men apparently suffocated.
A woman was at the house and may have let the killers in, residents told police.
Indications are that the men were robbed and murdered, investigators said.
A vehicle and valuables belonging to the men are missing, police said.
The victims’ relatives are on their way to Brazil from Europe and will claim the bodies, police said.
