Today on 1984 actress Aubrey Plaza was born in Wilmington, Delaware. The actress who is of Puerto Rican and Irish-English descent started her career as a stand-up comic. Though she is best known for portraying April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation she has many movie credits under her belt.
The oldest of three sister’s comedic talents were honed doing improv and stand up with the hopes of catching Saturday Night Live’s attention. Unfortunately she didn’t make the cut but in 2009 she landed a role as what else – a standup comic in the Judd Apatow film Funny People. From that point on Plaza’s career has been on hyper drive.
Currently the funny girl with the dead pan expression has been busy doing TV. She is on Legion playing the role of Lenny Busker based on the X-Men series. Her next film project Ingrid Goes West that debuts in August has garnered a lot of buzz – recognized at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival among other film festivals.
