Variety and others are reporting iconic Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz will portray Italian designer Donatella Versace in an upcoming season of ‘American Crime Story’ for the FX network.
The third installment of the popular cable mini-series will tell the story of the shocking murder of Gianni Versace, the founder of the Versace fashion house and older brother of Donatella, at the hands of serial murderer Andrew Cunanan.
Spaniards and Cruz’ legions of Latino fans are already shocked that the Academy award-winning actress has decided to do U.S. television at all, this is a first for her.
