Fifteen people were killed Wednesday in Tepic Mexico at a car wash. This is the third such massacre in less than a week in Mexico.
The authorities in the state of Nayarit where Tepic is located, report that a group of armed attackers arrived at the Gamboa car wash and opened fire on workers and customers. The 15 killed include workers and two street vendors while two additional people were injured.
The state attorney general’s office said: “The workers were all men; they were washing cars when the gunmen, probably members of organized crime, drove up in SUVs and started opening fire”.
It is not known why the workers were attacked. The State prosecutor’s office has denied reports the victims were recovering drug addicts.
Friday gunman killed 14 people and injured a nine-year-old boy at a party in Ciudad Juarez across the border from El Paso, Texas.
On Sunday, gunman killed 14 people at a rehabilitation centre in Tijuana.
