Weekend Shooting Leaves 12-Year Old Little Village Girl Seriously Injured

A weekend shooting in Little Village has left a 12-year old little girl seriously injured.  According to Chicago Fire Department reports a little girl was shot while walking with her uncle near an elementary school located at the 2400 block of South California Avenue, Friday night around 7:30 p.m.  According to reports at least one person fired shots west of California toward an individual that was not the little girl.

The uncle and girl were walking in what police consider a gang-infested area.  And law enforcement believe there had been some type of altercation in this same area between rival gangs the Latin Kings and Satan Disciplines.

The young girl was listed at Children’s Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition.
