Week-end Leaves One Dead from Hit-and-Run
This weekend a fatal hit-and-run occurred in the Chicago Humboldt Park neighborhood at the intersection at 1600 North Kimball Avenue. According to police reports the incident happened on Friday evening at approximately 8:00 p.m. when 75 year-old Robert E. Deters was struck.
The car fled after stricking the man who later died from his injuries at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital. Police later found the driver and vehicle involved in the deadly incident. The vehilce described as a green 1995 Chevy SUV was located at 4700 West Washington Blvd. Charges are pending against the unidentified driver.
