Target Set to Come to State Street

Numerous Chicago real estate sources on reporting that a Target store is set to come to State Street in the old Carson Pirie Scott store location at 1 S. State St. sometime in 2012.  This location would be Target’s 11th location in the city of Chicago.

The discount retailer would occupy somewhere between 120,000 to 140,000 square feet of the 600,000 square foot building.  There are other businesses and offices already situated in this iconic Chicago building.

Midwest developer Joseph Freed & Associates is said to be handling the deal.  Freed has already secured leases for the vast building from City Winery and retailer DSW Inc.
