SUCCESS: 1st Latino Selected to Run Large City Hospital
This month, José R. Sanchez began his tenure as Norwegian American Hospital’s newest President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jose has the honor of being the only “Latino” CEO for any of Chicago’s numerous hospitals.
José joins Norwegian American’s Executive Team with a 30-plus year career as a health care executive and a wealth of knowledge in the health care industry. Previously Sanchez served as CEO of one of the largest health care networks in New York City - Northern Manhanttan Health Network. He is also the founder of the Urban Health Conference, that brings together more than 300 network health providers together to discuss and develop solutions for urban health issues.
As the President and CEO of Norwegian, José is looking forward to working with everyone to enhance the quality of services Norwegian American provides to the more than 112,000 patients it serves annually. Jose is committed to pursuing collaborative and innovative solutions to combat the health care challenges of the communities that Norwegian American serves – namely Humboldt Park, West Town, Wicker Park, Buck Town, Logan Square, Hermosa, Belmont Gragin, and Austin.
