Frommer’s Top 10 Airport Restaurants Includes Tortas Frontera at Chicago’s Terminal 1

For weary U.S. travelers Frommer’s pick of the top 10 airport restaurants is always welcomed.  And this year the lists newest addition was none other than Tortas Frontera at O’Hare’s Terminal 1.

Tortas Frontera was the only entry from Chicago, where as there were two at New York airports (Deep Blue Shusi @ JFK and Custom Burgers @ LaGuardia) and one each at Atlanta (One Flew South), Baltimore (Obrycki’s), Boston (Legal Sea Foods), Minneapolis (Ike’s), Los Angeles (Encounter), Seattle (Ivar’s) and Raleigh-Durham (42nd Street Oyster Bar).

Tortas Frontera is the creation of well known Chicago celebrity chef Rick Bayless of Frontera Grill fame.  While busy operating three Chicago restaurants he plans on opening another Tortas Frontera in Terminal 3. 

Frommer looks for dining establishments that people, whether or not they were trapped at an airport, would choose to dine at and serve top-quality food.
