Free Rides for Seniors on Bus and Rail Coming to an End
Blagojevich’s free ride for seniors is about to end as Gov Quinn is expected to sign legislation that would limit it to only those with low incomes.
In a move to save the Chicago transit agencies tens of million dollars, Quinn has indicated he will sign the bill that was passed by the General Assembly in January.
To be eligible in the new program, one must be enrolled in the Circuit Breaker Program. Eligibility for the Circuit Breaker Program is set at $27,610 in household income for a single person over 65 and $36,635 for a couple.
