EVENT: Fun Events For Tween Girls
This Saturday, This Is ME, Inc. is hosting a Halloween-themed program at the Logan Square Library with a session dedicated to the 3800 year-old traditions of the Day of the Dead celebration. This program is open to girls age 10 to 15, and registration is not necessary.
This Is ME Inc. is also hosting Girls in the Game Elementary on Saturday for girls in 3rd-5th grades at Mozart Park in Logan Square. The event will give the teach girls skills of health, sports, and leadership. They will also practice dance and movement while discussing what makes them unique and learn to appreciate differences as well as similarities.

“The New Balance Girls on the Run-Chicago 5k presented by the Chicago Fire is the “WOO HOO!!!” moment for the girls of Girls on the Run-Chicago. It is the culmination of 10 weeks of training and this fall, over 1100 girls 8-14 years old will celebrate their “girl power” by running 3.1 miles with their parents, teachers, friends and community members.
Girls on the Run-Chicago is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to educate and inspire girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. More than just a running program, GOTRC combines training for a 5k event with interactive lessons that encourage positive physical, emotional, social and mental development. Through this innovative and fun program, girls are empowered with the confidence and character they need to become strong healthy women.
The Girls on the Run race series, with more than 70 events across the United States and Canada, is the second largest race series in the nation. The New Balance Girls on the Run Chicago 5k is one of the largest girl-centered 5ks in the country!
