CULTURE: (Logan Square) New Museum Opens
There is a new museum opening up in the Logan Square neighborhood and it’s not typical in any way. The Busy Beaver Button Museum at 3279 W. Armitage Avenue is dedicated to pinback buttons with a message and showcases the button as a form of written art.
The museum, that bills its self as a pop culture museum, has 1,000 buttons in its collection some dating back to the 1800’s. The building itself has an interesting history and contributes to the aura of buttons everywhere – it’s a button making factory that just celebrated its 15th year in business and manufactures 3 million buttons a year.
The Museum, which is opened Monday through Friday 10 am to 4 pm, celebrates buttons of call kind even the square ones made at the factory. There are also collector’s items such as the “I Was at The Obama Victory Rally” which were free when handed out at the victory rally and now sell for $20.
