CRIME: Charges Filed in Shooting & Home Invasion
Antonio Smith, 29, of 5500 South Marshfield Avenue has been charged with the Back of the Yards home invasion and shooting that occurred earlier this week. Smith was arrested for forcibly entering a home at the 5500 South Wolcott at 8:30 a.m. Wednesay, November 24th. While in the home Smith allegedly shot a 17-year-old boy while in the kitchen.
Smith has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion with injury, kidnapping by force or threat of force, and battery. While in custody, Smith battered an officer and therefore faces the additional charges of aggravated battery to a police officer. Smith appeared in bond court today.
