CRIME: Armored Truck Attempted Robbery, Leaves One Dead and Another Injured
Two gunmen attempted to rob the Garda armored truck this morning, which resulted in one suspect being shot and the other critically wounded.
Two men approached the Garda truck as it was parked in front of the Family Dollar Store in Humboldt Park at 3401 W. Chicago Ave. One man put a shot gun to the guard that was walking out of Family Store back to the armored truck while his accomplice put a gun to the guards back.
The guard was able to shoot the man holding the gun to him while another Garda guard shot the accomplice from inside the armor truck. One suspect died at the scene the other was taken in critical condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital.
