CRIME: 20 Gang Members Charged in Humboldt Park Drug Bust
After a two-year long investigation dubbed “Operation Bruised Forks” conducted by the FBI and Chicago Police, 20 individuals from Humboldt Park have been charged with distribution of a controlled substance and violating firearms laws.
Of the twenty people charged 17 of the charged are believed to be members of the Maniac Latin Disciples gang. Ten individuals were charged in eight separate criminal complaints related to drug distribution or violating federal firearms laws. Ten others were charged with violating state drug laws and firearms laws.
The arrested were announced by Chicago FBI Special Agent-In-Charge Robert Grant and Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis.
