Chicago Public Library is Celebrating Diversity in 2010
Join the Chicago Public Library in Celebrating Diversity in 2010 with its annual September/October observance of Hispanic Heritage Month. For this celebration, which was established to recognize Hispanic Americans and their contributions to the United States, the Chicago Public Library is offering a variety of programs that highlight the visual arts of Hispanic American cultures.
In Traditional Mexican Dance: Ballet Folklorico, the Hispanic Heritage Month’s kickoff program on Saturday, Sept. 18, special attention will be given to the musical and artistic contributions of Hispanic cultures. Other highlights for the month include musical performances, art activities, cooking demonstrations and book discussions.
