Chicago Police Seize Money, Drugs from South Side House
Chicago Police arrested and charged Salvador Sandoval, 46, of the 5100 block of South Francisco Avenue Monday afternoon with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine – Over 900 grams and Possession of Cannabis – 30-500 grams, both felonies.
Chicago Police Narcotics officers were conducting a narcotics investigation on May 2, 201l. At this time, officers observed Sandoval engaged in what they believed to be narcotics-related activities with an unknown individual. Suspecting a narcotics transaction had just occurred, the officers investigated further.
During the course of the initial narcotics investigation the Narcotics Officers recovered a bag containing a bundle of narcotics related cash totaling approximately $10,000 USC from Sandoval’s vehicle. The narcotics investigation then led the officers to Sandoval’s home in the 5100 block of South Francisco, where they recovered 6,050 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of over $750,000 and 40 grams of cannabis worth approximately $250. Additional narcotics-related funds totaling over $81,000 were recovered also. Sandoval was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
Sandoval was expected to appear in Central Bond court on May 3, 2011.
