Chicago Police Investigation Leads to More than $1.5 Million Worth of Herion on Southwest Side
A Chicago Police Narcotics Unit investigation on the city’s southwest side led to the recovery of 15 kilograms of brown heroin and the arrest of two individuals Wednesday afternoon.
Juan Delgado, 35, of the 5200 block of South Richmond Street is charged with one count of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 900+ Grams of Heroin and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, 900+ Grams of Heroin. Juan Vazquez, 45, of the 4400 block of North Kasson Avenue is charged with one count of Possession of a
Controlled Substance, 900+ Grams of Heroin.
Officers from the Chicago Police Narcotics Unit observed the arrestees engage in a narcotics transaction on South Kedzie Avenue at about 1 p.m. Wednesday. Delgado and Vazquez were placed in custody and 2 kilograms of heroin with an estimated street value of $200,000 were recovered.
Pursuant to this investigation, Narcotics Unit officers obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence in the 3900 block of West 60th Place. During execution of that warrant, an additional 13 kilograms of heroin, worth an estimated $1,315,000, were recovered. Two vehicles were also seized during the investigation.
Both Delgado and Vazquez were scheduled to appear at 26th & California on today’s date.
