Chicago Has Already Reached 100 Homicides in 2011
Chicago has now surpassed 100 homicides for 2011.
The 100th murder victim was reportedly a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot on April 27th. The shooting took place on the 3900 block on West Thomas Street in Humboldt Park.
This is quickest Chicago has ever reached the 100-homicide mark. In 2010, the same number of homicides was reached on April 15, and April 22 in 2009.
In the last week alone, shootings resulting in homicide were recorded in Kentwood, Austin, the Near West Side, and Roseland.
So far this month, only one homicide has been recorded.
