The National Latino Congreso, the politics and policy convention of the Latino community, is coming to Chicago.

Mark your calendars for May 17-19 at the Arturo Velazquez Institute (2800 South Western Ave, Chicago). This year’s convening focuses around three themes: Economic Justice, Immigration/Migrant Rights, and Latino Vote/Civic Engagement.

Sessions will also discuss a range of related topics such as: Youth, Education, Art, Culture, Environmental Justice, Transnationalism, Gender Equity, and Community Health and Well-Being.

As the Chicago location marks the first time that the Congreso will be convened outside of the Southwest, this year’s event presents an opportunity for Midwestern Latino-serving community organizations to play an important role in the discussion around the policy and political agenda of Latino communities across the United States, including the international/Latin American perspective.
