2011 “Operation Shining Star” Today to Benefit Chicago Children
Frank P. Benedetto, Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service Chicago Field Office, is proud to announce the kick off of “Operation Shining Star.” A 13-year tradition, “Operation Shining Star” benefits some of Chicago’s most deserving citizens – the children at University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital.
On Wednesday, December 14, the Secret Service and Chicago Police Department will escort Santa and Mrs. Claus by motorcade to University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital to deliver presents.
“Earlier this year, the Chicago Field Office hosted a charity golf outing to raise funds for Operation Shining Star,” Benedetto said. “The success of that event along with generous corporate contributions is allowing us to bring at the very least, a small amount of joy to children at Comer during this holiday season.”
