2 Wounded, 1 Dead After Monday Shooting
Monday afternoon, three people were shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Around 4:20pm, police responded to the 5000 block of South Morgan Street where they found three people shot, one male, two females.
Early reports said the victims were heading west on 50th Street when they heard gunshots. The driver crashed into a fence.
A spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department said paramedics took three people, ages 22 and 21, to Stroger Hospital. All three were taken in serious-to-critical condition.
22-year-old Ana Rosa Gonzalez, of the 5000 block of South Morgan Street, was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. at Stroger Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The other victims were a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. Both of those victims are expected to be treated and released from Stroger, police said Tuesday morning.
