World Series Features Record Number of Latino Players
The current World Series featuring the San Francisco Giants against the Texas Rangers has all the features of a great competition (Giants are up by two games) and is set to go in the record books for featuring the most Latino players of any World Series.
The Rangers and Giants combined have 17 players from Latin America according to current payroll records. The record for most number of Latino players playing a World Series was set in 2003 when 16 played in the Yankees versus Florida Marlins series.
The majority of Latino players are from the Dominican Republic with eight native born players and Puerto Rico follows with three players. Mexico and Colombia each have a native-born player in the Series.
¡Buena Suerte! to both teams.
