Singing Legend Marco Antonio Solis Gets Hollywood Star (VIDEO)
Mexican singer, composer and record producer Marco Antonio Solis got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, snagging star No. 2,415, which was handed to him by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Originally from the Mexican state of Michoacán, the 50 year old Marco Antonio Solis became a household name in the 1970’s as the founder and lead singer of Los Bukis, one of the country’s best-selling Spanish language romantic groups. In 1995 Solis embarked on a solo career that has earned him success after success.
In his 30 year career he has produced and sung songs covering the range of Latin American styles from ranchero to cumbia to boleros. His latest album No Molestar was his 20th. He has penned more than 300 songs and some of Latin America’s greatest hit songs such as “Tu Carcel,”“Como Fui A Enamorarme De Ti,” “Sigue Sin Mi,” “Si No Te Hubieras Ido,” just to name a few.
He is a Latin Grammy winner with eight No. 1 Billboard hits and has been given countless awards and prizes throughout Latin America and Mexico.
