Project Runway Latin American Style (VIDEO)

For a couple of months now, Mexican model and TV presenter Rebecca de Alba (Ricky Martin’s girlfriend for years) has been playing Heidi Klim’s role in the Latino version of the fashion world reality TV show Project Runway.

The show is shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and like the one below, most episodes are available on Youtube.

Challenges in the show so far have included “Dress the Master Card Girl” “Travel to the future, year 2150” and “Burlesque.” Contestants develop fashion attire consistent with the weekly theme, and at the end of the show, the contestant who fails to rise up to the challenge, must leave the show, much like in the American counterpart.

The winner of the competition will win $20,000 to start their own collection and present it at the Puerto Rican Fashion Week, and a fashion spread in Elle Mexico Magazine.
