Photo: Woman In Argentina Sleeps Next Her Dead Husband in his Mausoleum
When Adriana Villareal’s husband died two years she was understandably devastated, especially because she was out of the country when it happened. But while many may take trips to their loved ones’ burial sites, Adriana has taken things a bit further.
Police in Argentina say they received reports of loud music coming from the San Lazaro cemetery in Dos de Mayo and had been informed a woman appeared to be living in a mausoleum.
When they arrived at the mausoleum, officers found Adriana in her pajamas. A closer look revealed evidence that she had indeed been living there. Inside, the mausoleum had a bed, a small cooker, a radio and even a computer with an internet connection.
When the 43-year-old was questioned, she told officers her husband, 28-year-old Sergio Yede, had committed suicide 2 years ago while she was way in Mexico. Adriana said he was a good man and she missed him very much, and traveled to Dos de Mayo three times a year from Buenos Aires to sleep next to her husband in the mausoleum for three or four days each time.
While in town, she also visits Sergio’s parents, but said she prefers to spend her nights with him, to keep him company.
Asked if she is afraid of sleeping next to corpses, she reportedly told police, it’s the living we should all be afraid of.
