The U.S. Department of Education kicked-off its National Education Summit yesterday with a call to action to raise awareness about the education disparity within the Hispanic community. Administration experts along with Hispanic community leaders from around the country addressed issues ranging from early childhood learning to higher education.
Today President Obama will sign an executive order on the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics in a ceremony in the East Room of the White House. The revised executive order places a high priority on ensuring America’s future global competitiveness by raising Hispanic education attainment at every level.
