DREAMers decided to disrupt Republican Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney’s, six state Super Tuesday win yesterday.  One of the states Mitt won was his home state of Massachusetts and that is where he was met by DREAM act supporters.

As Romney spoke of the American Dream and he being the most qualified to deliver it, the DREAMers held up posters that read “VETO ROMNEY, NOT THE DREAM ACT.”  Romney has vowed to veto the Dream Act should it ever come before his desk as President and he has advocated for ‘self-deportation’ as the solution for dealing with the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants here.

The Dream Act would allow children of undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. at an early age a path to citizenship if they are in college or serving in the military.  Different versions of the DREAM Act have lingered in Congress for over a decade and did not pass last time it was voted on mainly due to lack of Republican support.

The protesting students were escorted out eventually but not after getting a lot of “Veto Romney’s” in.
