Everyone knows that Republican Presidential contender and Texas Governor Rick Perry is a staunch pro-lifer and religious conservative and it appears it is those very principals that he may use to lure the Latino voter.
While his ‘The Response’ prayer rally received a lot of attention his support of the pro-life nonprofit Manto de Guadalupe (Mantle of Guadalupe) has not. This past spring in Los Angeles, Perry was the only English-speaker at the organization’s Unidos por la Vida (United for Life) pro-life rally where they were trying to obtain funds to build “the largest pro-life women’s clinic in the U.S.” and put it nearby or next to abortion clinic clusters.
Now, political experts are viewing this participation as Perry’s first outreach to obtain the Latino vote, albeit the conservative one. Perry even went as far as to label the U.S. an “exporter of abortion” since White House policy allows for international non-profits to receive U.S. aid even if they are performing abortions.
Governor Perry’s YouTube political outreach campaign posted the video in June.
