Vevo, the popular music site and Univision have signed an agreement whereby Vevo will provide video content to Univision highlighting Latino performing artists.
Univision plans to feature the Vevo video across all its on-line sites including the new all music site it launched last week – Musicia. In the agreement Vevo will handle all advertising sales while Univision manages the programming of the content.
Vevo has aggressively been pursuing the U.S. Hispanic market as a source to grow its audience. Of the 49 million on line users Vevo has 20 percent or 8 million are Hispanic. The agreement with Univision has already garnered advertising interest from Toyota and Warner Bros that are seeking to sell its products to Vevo’s music loving Hispanic audience.
