Veggie Shortage and Higher Prices Expected as Result of Mexico Weather Freeze

For all of you veggie lovers bad news on supply and price for your favorite healthy snack.  The freeze last month in Mexico coupled with cold snaps in Florida and Texas has reduced supplies of everything from asparagus to tomatoes.

The immediate result of Mexico’s weather freeze is price increases and poor quality on the vegetables will be available.  Wendy’s is going as far as eliminating tomatoes on its sandwiches unless the customer specifically asks for it.

Supply flow will be impacted 30 to 60 days from now and shortages are expected to last at least through April.
