Univision’s “Soy Tu Dueña” Season Finale Makes Television History

With its season finale reaching 9.4 million total viewers “Soy tu Dueña” is the top-rated show on broadcast TV across all key demographics, regardless of language in television history.

Univision’s primetime novela blockbuster makes it the #1 network for nighttime TV, beating ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and CW among several key demographics, including all adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and persons 12-34

Monday’s broadcast of the series finale of “Soy tu Dueña” reached 9.4 million viewers who tuned in to all or part of the program, and averaged 7.3 million total viewers throughout the entire broadcast earning a place among the Top 5 novela finale’s of all-time in the history of Univisión (since 1992).

“We are extremely proud of the success of ‘Soy Tu Dueña’ and the historic imprint it has left in the television industry in the U.S.,” said Luis Fernández, president of Entertainment for Univision Network and of Univision Studios. “This is a great example of the ongoing popularity of the novela genre among U.S. viewers of all ages and the power and reach of Univision’s primetime lineup.”

In the current 2010/2011 season, “Soy Tu Dueña,” on average, delivered more Adult 18-34 and Adult 18-49 viewers than many of the regularly-scheduled primetime programs on English-language television, including:

Univision’s next 9pm novela, beginning January 3, will be “Triunfo del Amor” (Triumph of Love), which brings back together stars Maité Perroni (“Cuidado con el Ángel,” “Mi Pecado”) and William Levy (“Cuidado con el Ángel,” “Sortilegio”). Produced by Salvador Mejía, creator of blockbuster novelas such as “Mundo de Fieras” (Love and Cruelty) and “La Madrastra” (The Stepmother), the novela’s stellar cast also includes actresses Victoria Ruffo and Daniela Romo, as well as Osvaldo Ríos, Salvador Pineda, Dominika Paleta, Carmen Salinas, Pablo Montero, and soccer superstar Cuauhtémoc Blanco, making his acting debut.
