Univision morning show “Despierta America” (Wake Up America), the highest-rated among Hispanics, celebrated its 15th anniversary Friday with a special featuring its most memorable moments and many, many thanks to viewers for welcoming the program into their homes each day.

“We’re family for those who watch us and make every effort so our audience identifies with us,” the Mexican Karla Martinez, co-host of the program with Raul Gonzalez, Chiquinquira Delgado, Poncho de Anda, Ana Patricia Gonzalez and Satcha Pretto, told Efe.

For Martinez, one key to the show’s success is the fact that viewers “turn on the television and feel like we’re part of their family” besides bringing them “news, entertainment, sports and music.”

In that sense, the popular host said that the four-hour live broadcast has become a time with a true family feeling, as well as being spiced every day with our “improvisation and craziness.”

To celebrate these 15 years on the air, “Despierta America” prepared a special full of surprises and celebrity guests on location at the Epcot theme park in Central Florida.

Guests included Elvis Crespo, Joey Montana, Lupillo Rivera, Marc Anthony, Chayanne, Don Francisco, Thalia, Shaila Durcal and Joan Sebastian.
