The Univision network managed to edge out all other networks to top the ratings on Wednesday in a key demographic group.
Univision won the advertiser-favorite demographic of 18-49-year-olds., with the major win due in large part to being the only network airing new content while others aired reruns.
In total viewers however, the Spanish-language network came in third behind CBS and NBC.
In the key demographic (18-49,) Univision was followed by CBS, NBC, ABC, then Fox.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Univision is poised to finish the year as the No. 4 television network among adults 18-34, ahead of CBS and all cable networks, moving it up from No. 5 in 2011.
Also, for the sixth consecutive year, the Spanish-language network is set to finish as the No. 1 network on Friday nights among Adults 18-34 – ahead of its closest competitor, NBC by 31%. Univision set to finish as the No. 4 network among Adult 18-34 audience, beating CBS and all cable networks during broadcast primetime – up from fifth place a year ago. With two times more Adults 18-34 viewers, Univision has also outperformed the CW every single year since 2006 in broadcast primetime.
