More than 35 pounds of cocaine were found at United Nations headquarters in New York last week.

The cocaine was delivered to the UN building in two large bags imprinted with bad copies of the UN symbol. The packages, which had no names or address on them, were sent from Mexico City, by way of Cincinnati.

After arriving in the mail room, the poor imitation logos made the scanner suspicious.

Upon opening the packages, the drugs were discovered in hollowed-out notebooks.

Investigators believe the packages came from drug traffickers, but are uncertain as to why they were sent to the UN.

According to Prensa Latina, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a criminal investigation on Saturday after learning of the delivery.

In total, there were 14 notebooks, each containing about 2 pounds of cocaine. The drugs have an estimated street value of $440,000.

No arrests have been made in the case thus far.
