U.S. and Colombia: Holding First Meeting on Racial & Ethnic Equality

The U.S. and Colombia will hold their first planning meeting on the “U.S.-Colombia Action Plan on Racial and Ethnic Equality” on June 12 and 13, in Washington D.C.

Both countries are taking this step recognizing ethnic and racial diversity as key to development of democratic and multicultural societies,” said the U.S. State Department

The action plan will encourage dialogue between both counties and sharing of best practices for creating opportunities for .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) in areas such as access to education, health, housing, and employment.

The upcoming meetings will bring together the private sector, and the governments of both countries to address a range of topics, including education, culture, sports, and economic opportunities.

The goal of the plenary session will be to develop a comprehensive work plan to map programming priorities on these issues for 2013-2014.
